Eco Factor: CEA partners with EarthEra for the implementation of sustainable solutions.
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has partnered with EarthEra to implement sustainable and energy-efficient solutions at the 2010 International CES. Owned and produced by CEA, the 2010 International CES, the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology, is scheduled January 7-10, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
EarthEra is scheduled to issue green e-certified renewable energy certificates from its wind energy sources to offset electricity and carbon emissions during the show. In addition to the energy being used during the show, green certificates will also be issued for hotel rooms as well.
The CEA will also donate $50,000 to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Convention Center Area Command, to purchase T-3 Motion electric vehicles and accessories. Electric police vehicles will reduce use of fossil fuel powered vehicles and help the environment, the police and the local community.
