Eco Art: Artist converts old car parts into amazing sculptures

recycled car part sculptures 1
Every day new motors are being produced with no proper recycling of the old, non-functional ones. If things keep going the way they are, our planet will soon turn into a huge junkyard, which would stand as the biggest threat to the environment. Diverting the old car parts from the landfills is James Corbett, an eco-conscious artist who amalgamates junk with art. He uses the old and used car parts and puts them together like pieces in a puzzle, creating amazing sculptures.
The artist
James Corbett, the creative mind behind these extraordinary artworks, was running an auto recycling business in Brisbane when he discovered this talent of creating these incredible sculptures in 1999. This 46-year-old artist comes from Ningi in Queensland, Australia. And from that time onward his works have found homes in all capital cities in Australia, also England, Switzerland, New Zealand, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and the U.S.A. The Car Part Sculptor has exhibited his works in galleries all across the world.
The inspiration
In today’s world everybody is talking about using eco-friendly products. Even the big vehicle producing companies are going green. Everyone is concerned about saving the earth and making it a better place to live. So, looking at the world walking the green pathway, designer James Corbett too thought of contributing to Mother Nature by creating stunning artworks from the non biodegradable car parts.
The material
The designer creates his sculptures from old car parts, which would have been thrown away in scrap yards. Since car parts are made from metal, so they are non-biodegradable. Giving new life to such a waste means saving the environment from getting polluted.
The artwork
James has been creating fabulous sculptures out of scrap for years, and much of his work has concentrated on cars and bikes. Many of the parts he uses come from rare and classic cars, and are sourced at scrap yards and swap meets in Corbett’s native Queensland. He does not bend any of the part he uses maintaining the integrity of the part. He simply gave them different shapes according to the need of the design. Besides animals (and people), he has modeled motorcycles, old race cars etc. Corbett’s work also shows how far the automobile has permeated our culture.
Glowing aspects
The waste old car parts are given new life when these are put to use in creating beautiful sculptures. The non-biodegradable material is removed from the scrap yards, thus saving the environment. It also inspires the world to take up recycling practices.
What is in it for me?
James Corbett’s sculptures are undoubtedly some of the finest examples of assemblage art that you would be likely to encounter anywhere in the world. They not only decorate your home but also inspire you to create something out of waste.
