Daimler To Use Electric Vehicle Technology From Renault-Nissan

Eletctric Vehicle Technology, Renault, Daimler
Daimler is all set to expand its relationships with Renault-Nissan to include electric vehicles. The three companies are keen to invest in electric car technology as environmental regulations become more stringent. The partnership will now be expanded to include electric motors, batteries and power-trains.

Daimler’s R&D chief Thomas Weber believes that due to current technology restrictions, making these cars will not be profitable for companies unless they work together to achieve economies of scale. The tie-in between Daimler and Renault, which also includes Mercedes, Nissan, Smart and Infiniti, was signed in April this year.
