Conceived by Portuguese automotive designer Marcelo Aguiar, a.k.a. marceloaguiar, Element-C is a sports utility vehicle concept that relies on a bio-diesel/electric hybrid engine for speeding through the city lanes. The SUV features a lightweight (made from recycled materials) structure and bodywork for assuring 30% more mileage.

While recycled leather residues deck the upholstery, the whole cockpit lines itself with foam impregnated with microencapsulated Phase Change Materials to provide optimum thermal comfort. The PCMs release heat when the interior temperature drops below the comfort zone; and if it becomes too hot, the heat is absorbed to avoid temperature peaks.

Anyone should like its convertible, photovoltaic, panoramic roof. The electronic opacification stops working on a cold, but sunny day. The roof folds to the front and the rear window tucks itself inside the tailgate, if one wants to enjoy the pleasant air outside. The fully automated, variable-position seats offer an ultimate outdoor experience, allowing user to look above roof with tailgate acting as a shading screen.
