El-Assist Recharging Concept By Vladimir Abramov

EV Charging Solutions, Vladimir Abramov
Industrial designer Vladimir Abramov has conceptualized a unique electric vehicle charging solution that can increase the range of electric cars by allowing them to recharge on the move. The concept also aims to reduce the number of private automobiles by integrating private driving with public transportation.

While current approaches developed by various companies involve fast chargers and quick charging batteries, the El-Assist uses existing technology and overhead network used by trams to recharge electric vehicles. Using the system electric cars would be able to connect to the support vehicles to recharge their batteries when they are being used for long distance commutes.

The basic idea here is that private electric car owners would take passengers in exchange for electricity provided by the service. In the long-run this could lead to reduction of private cars and better public transport. The second part of the concept introduces auto-piloted support shuttles, which would be used to recharge batteries when travelling longer distances. This solution is proposed as alternative for installing bigger and heavier batteries into EVs.
