Everything I need to know about Agility Saietta electric motorcycle

What is it?
British manufacturer Agility has finally unveiled the Saietta, at the MCN London Motorcycle Show. This is an all exclusive zero emission electric motorcycle, as well as the company’s debut venture into the vibrant motorcycle market. The name Saietta is the phonetic spelling of “thunderbolt” in an Italian Apennine dialect. Overcoming the shackles of the cumbersome combustion engine, this wondrous design combined with wide bars and low center of gravity, exhibits a demeanor of graceful dynamism.
How much will it cost me?
Well the motorcycle does demand a relatively hefty price from its customers, taking into account the features of incorporated green technology. The model S with the 80km range comes with a base price of $16,200, and the model R with 161km range has a base price of around $22,650.
The Numbers :
The R model offers us an extended range of 161km per single charge - which is much more than a daily commuter could ask for. The other model S gives us a range of around 80km. The Saietta S model is expected to hit from 0 to 60, just under the mark of 4 seconds. The heavier R model will pick up to that in just about 5 seconds. Both models incorporate a drive system that is 73% more efficient from energy source to wheel when compared to an internal combustion engine. The weight ratio is thought to be 675hp per ton.
The look :
The bulging volume of the front side does speak ‘volumes’ about unconventionality, albeit showered with sparks of British sublimity. Designed by Agility’s Lawrence Marazzi, he contrived of punching in the spirited factor as much as he could. From the viewpoint of controls, the designers have incorporated the very best suspension setups from early on in the design process. This gave them some room for conceptualizing the ultra-vivacious look of Saietta. The conspicuous mass of the main frame is imbued with the sturdy battery pack, in a way defining the ultimate form of this special motorcycle.
Why it matters?
Both models feature a drive system that is 73% more efficient from energy source to wheel when compared to an internal combustion engine, (in terms of cost and useful work done, the average cost saving using an Electric motor is approximately 53.63p per horsepower per hour).
The alternatives :
1.Mission One:
mission one1_ce7ov_69
This Yves BĂ©har-designed motorcycle sets a new performance standard for electric two-wheelers. It has a whopping top speed of 150 mph and an estimated range of 150 miles, but all of this comes with an exorbitant price tag.
Company: Mission Motors
Range: 150 miles
Price: $68,995
2.Zero DS:
zero motorcycles ds 630 blk
The all-electric Zero DS boasts of tougher tires and more aggressive yet well controlled suspension. Though imbued with the top speed of only 50mph and 50 miles range, it makes up for it through its better riding capabilities and relatively low price.
Company: Zero Motorcycles
Range: 50 miles
Price: $9,950
3. GPR-S electric motorcycle:
electric motorsport
This affordable electric bike has respectable specifications like 19 horsepower, and can hit a speed of around 70mph. Additionally the lithium-ion battery pack just weighs only one-third of the total motorcycle.
Company: Electric Motorsport
Range: 60 miles
Price: $8,000
The bottom line :
Though nothing substantial has been divulged about the Saietta’s specifications, it is expected to diligently live up to its hype. Moreover Agility has announced that :
Saietta is the first of two new vehicle types that will revolutionise private transportation in cities.
