ESCALE Pedal-Powered Electric Vehicle By Samuel Aguiar

Sleek, sizzling and built for the roads of the future – that is the thought process of every modern designer who is sitting down to create the commuting marvels of tomorrow. Sure, some of these are making their way from the drawing board onto the roads, but many are left in the dark and few manage to become popular. But without the efforts of these designers, the vehicles of the future and clean and “emission-free” roads might just not be possible. Escale is another fabulous addition to that line of “eco-friendly commuting vehicles of tomorrow.”

Escale is a commuting vehicle and while the designer does not specify it, there is no doubt this is made more for commuting within the city and maybe on short trips away from your home. Designed both for you and your friends, there is ample space inside and also some trunk space so that you can fit the luggage.

The design itself is compact, yet very stylish and sleek reflecting on the modern trend of minimalism and the seats are designed to simply floor you. On the inside (and obviously this is what concerns us the most) is an electric engine that you can charge up with not only a plug-in, but also using pedal power. So, you need not worry about running out of juice some way away from home. But, that means you will need a set of strong legs and a few guys to help along.

There are the usual entertainment options like the music system, but what we would have loved to have seen is solar panel on top that helps you out on a sunny day. Well, with the Escale around, maybe you can cut down on both the money you spend on fuel and the gym at the same time… Perfect for those training for the Olympics!
