The Concept:
Uniquely conceived by 19 year old mechanical engineering student Mohamad Sadegh Samakoush, the “Supple” is a basically a low range electric transportation vehicle that compromises of a seat daintily balanced on a ball. Harmoniously controlled with a tow server motor and connected to a processor, this nimble contraption can gingerly scamper in any direction - all according to the user’s whim. Neatly infused with a wireless network and GPS map to interact with, and navigate the ‘driver’, this vehicle can also be interfaced with an extra two or three vehicle of its kind.
The Vision:
The name Supple ‘pretty’ much embodies the aim of the designer. This device is touted as an automatic guide vehicle, which essentially means it can drive itself after taking the guidance through the GPS navigation system by the driver. Another smart characteristic very much intrinsic to the concept is its sleek, lithesome yet controlled maneuverability. This can significantly help the driver in congested traffic situations, where one can take full advantage of the vehicle’s agility as well as compactness.
The Limitations:
The fundamental limitation of this petite vehicle would be its relatively low range in comparison to conventional vehicles, even if it’s towed with other Supples that extends the overall axis vicinity. Moreover due to the near absence of any substantial suspension system, the joyride could turn out to be quite jerky if the roads are not smooth enough.
Can this be real?
In the serious context of traffic profusion nowadays, many ingenious designers have come up with equally innovative design concepts that can provide us with convenient solutions. Many of these ‘concepts’ have already scuttled their way to the production line. In view of such ambiance, the Supple stands out as a zero-emission, compact, electric vehicle with nimble degree of maneuverability. So in the very near future we can expect it to be real
