Solar Peace Sculpture: Eco-friendly visual message of peace

Art is a language that binds people around the world, so why not use it to spread a message of peace, environment preservation, renewable energy and recycling. Fred George, a New York-based artist and photographer, has created an art sculpture that not only highlights the issue of environmental damage, but also raises awareness about the need for sustainable energy use. He has crafted a large-scale solar peace sign art installation from 80 recycled metal oil barrels.

The 58ft tall visual message of peace features solar panels that are fixed to each oil barrel. Apart from being an aesthetically appealing artwork, it also produces renewable energy that can be funneled back into the grid. You might soon see these solar peace sign art installations erected in China, Germany and the USA. Art doesn’t go more meaningful and green than this.
