Are trees really our allies in the fight against global warming?

trees
Trees are considered the greatest rescuers from pollution, global warming and climate change. But, what if I tell you that they are the sources of greenhouse gases. Would you buy it? According to an interesting study, it has been found out that these brigades of green could be emitting methane in large amount into the atmosphere every year. Methane is 25 times more powerful as a greenhouse gas than CO2 and if studies are to be believed, trees could be blamed partially for the increase in methane concentration.
The scientists say that the tree are not responsible for the production of methane, rather they are merely the conduit that suck the methane generated by soil bacteria. They behave like chimneys that suck up the harmful gas and deposit it in the air. Even though trees suck up billions of tons of CO2, they could be responsible for up to 10 percent of the global methane budget
