Speaking at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, an HTC rep confirmed that the company's existing Desire lineup of smartphones will all be upgraded to the current latest version of Google's Android operating system, 2.3 Gingerbread according to CNET.
Still, this is some good news for HTC owners, as they once again prove themselves to be the most consistent manufacturers when it comes Android OS updates.
Cloudy with a chance of updates
They won't be receiving the updates all at once though - the Desire HD and Desire Z will probably receive the updates first. Owners of the original Desire will probably have to wait even longer. Either way, the minimum waiting period is expected to last until the Desire S, which was announced at the event too, releases this Spring. Add in a month or two after that, and you're looking at an update period of around May-July.Still, this is some good news for HTC owners, as they once again prove themselves to be the most consistent manufacturers when it comes Android OS updates.
