Toshiba have announced their participation in the high-end tablet wars with their entry, a yet unnamed tablet that is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Toshiba have gone more down the media consumption route with their tablet, which will have a 10.1-inch multitouch screen that has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a maximum resolution of 1280x800. There’s an HDMI port, as well as a full-sized USB port for media consumption on the tablet itself or an HDTV.
Other features include a microSD card slot a mini-USB port. Apart from that, the tablet features a-GPS functionality, two cameras at 5 megapixel (rear) and 2 megapixel (front) and will come in two SKUs of 3G + Wi-fi and Wi-fi only. A rather unique feature is the ability to swap batteries, unlike most other tablets. The back cover will also be removable and replacable with other covers that Toshiba will sell in a myriad of colours.
There’s no word on the pricing or the launch period of the product, but we hope to hear from Toshiba soon.
